Announcement  ·  9 September 2026

Dan Ward joins STROS as Director of Growth Marketing & Content Strategy.

The third seat at STROS Partnerships. Thirty years in marketing, now pointed at one job: understanding exactly what problems an operator has, and building the story of how a partner's platform solves them.

Dan Ward, Director of Growth Marketing and Content Strategy at STROS

STROS has appointed Dan Ward as Director of Growth Marketing and Content Strategy. His job is to understand exactly what problems operators in retail, logistics and supply chain have, and to show them how the platforms STROS backs solve those problems. He builds the positioning, the message and the material that carry that into the market, so an operator understands what a platform is worth to them before the first meeting.

The appointment completes the three seats STROS Partnerships runs on. Ross Eggleton decides what STROS backs, drawing on two decades of running these operations from the inside. Jason Greenspan opens the doors and turns that into signed alliances and senior pipeline. Dan makes sure that what gets said in the room, and everything the operator reads before it, is aimed at the problem they actually have.

The platforms STROS backs rarely have a product problem. The product works and customers are already paying for it. What's usually missing is the connection between that product and the problems a UK operator recognises as their own. The website, the deck and the sales story were written before anyone had worked out who the buyer here is and what they care about. Dan's job is to make that connection, then build the material that carries it.

Three seats, one growth engine

Authority. Ross Eggleton, Founder and Managing Director. Decides what STROS backs and lends two decades of running retail, logistics and supply chain from the inside to it. The reason the door opens at all.

Access. Jason Greenspan, Director of Partnerships. Turns that credibility into signed alliances and enterprise pipeline, in the rooms cold outreach never reaches. The reason the door keeps opening.

Positioning and demand. Dan Ward, Director of Growth Marketing and Content Strategy. Understands exactly what problems an operator has and shows how a partner's platform solves them, so the operator sees the value before the first meeting.

Separately they are three good jobs. Together they compound, because each one increases the range of the other two. Every new platform STROS backs inherits the authority, the relationships and the content engine the last one built.

What Dan will be doing

  • Positioning. Working with each partner to position the platform against the problems UK and European operators actually have.
  • Message. How the platform talks to operators. The benefits, set against the problems a buyer already recognises.
  • Distribution and discovery. White papers, briefs and a content engine for the partner brands and for STROS, so operators understand the problem a platform solves before a sales conversation starts, and find it when they go looking.
  • Enablement. Giving the partnerships team, and the partner's own sales team, the tools to say the right thing in the room.
  • Co-marketing. Campaigns built with the partner's own team, not at them.

He looks after the STROS Partnerships brand as well. One company per category. Never competitors in the same room. Always led with value to the operator. That principle has to be visible in what STROS publishes, or it is just a claim.

Why this hire matters

Dan brings thirty years in marketing, across agency, retail and direct-to-consumer. He helped build an independent media agency from five people to more than 120 and £150m turnover, becoming one of its owners. Client-side he worked closely with Lord Kirkham at DFS, who later brought him in to run advertising at FABB Sofas, and he led the rebrand of Sofaworks to Sofology. More recently he took a young direct-to-consumer brand to 10 x its revenue in a year. He has spent the last three years deep in AI, which is what lets a marketing engine this size run without a department behind it.

He also built the STROS brand, the website and the communications strategy before he joined. The work was already running. The appointment makes it permanent.

"The platforms we back rarely have a product problem. The product works and customers are already paying for it. What's missing is a reason the operator here recognises as their own problem. My job is to find that reason, then build the material that carries it, so the operator knows why they're in the room before they sit down."Dan Ward, Director of Growth Marketing & Content Strategy, STROS

The platforms Dan works with

Dan's focus starts with Duvo.ai, the agentic operations platform for retail and consumer goods, backed by Index Ventures and Northzone, cutting manual operational effort by up to 40%. A second partner follows in October, an AI platform built for the warehouse sector, where STROS is building the brand and the go-to-market from scratch ahead of launch.

"I've run these operations, and I've sat through plenty of pitches from platforms that deserved a better story than the one they turned up with. Dan works out what the operator actually needs to hear, then builds it."Ross Eggleton, Founder of STROS

About STROS Partnerships

STROS sits where supply chain, technology, logistics and retail meet. STROS Partnerships is its resource-backed arm, deploying trusted access, go-to-market strategy, positioning and a senior network into the growth engines of a deliberately small number of high-potential platforms. It runs on three seats: the authority of its founder, Ross Eggleton FCILT, a former CSCO, COO and CEO; the access of Jason Greenspan, Director of Partnerships; and the positioning and demand work of Dan Ward, Director of Growth Marketing and Content Strategy. One company per category. Never competitors in the same room. Always led with value to the operator.

For operators and platforms

Two ways to work with Dan.

If you run operations, supply chain or technology in retail or logistics, tell him what's getting in your way. If you're scaling a platform into the UK enterprise market and the product is ahead of the story, that's the conversation he's here for.
